Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg. Mix until a thick dough forms. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the 2 large eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well. Then add the powdered sugar, melted butter, and a pinch of salt. Mix until the mixture is creamy and lump-free.
- Pour the cream cheese filling over the crust and spread it evenly.
Baking
- Bake for 40–45 minutes. The edges should be lightly golden, while the center will stay soft.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 1 hour before cutting.
Notes
Chill for at least 2 hours before cutting to avoid warm bars falling apart. For clean edges, use a sharp knife wiped clean between each cut. These bars can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
