Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Pour in warm water and olive oil or melted butter. Stir gently until the dough pulls together into a shaggy mass.
First Rise
- Cover the bowl tightly and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
Shaping
- Lightly flour the surface, turn out the dough, and shape it into a smooth ball. Place it in a greased loaf pan seam-side down.
- Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes until puffy and slightly above rim.
Baking
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
Store in a bread box or plastic wrap at room temperature for up to 4 days. Freeze for up to 3 months, slice for convenience.
