  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk Provides sweetness and moisture.

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour or 1:1 gluten-free flour with xanthan gum Fresh flour recommended.
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda For leavening.
  • 1/4 tsp salt Balances sweetness.
  • 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips Reserve some for topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly mixed.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving some to press on top.
Baking
  1. Using a large cookie scoop, place dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them at least 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges start to brown.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 7 days or freeze for up to 3 months. To restore softness, reheat at 300°F for 5-7 minutes.
