Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Choose a well-sifted, fresh bag for consistent rise.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Use aluminum-free for a clean flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Use freshly ground for the best aroma.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Buy European-style for richer flavor.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a standard 9×5-inch loaf pan, or line it with parchment for easy removal. Combine the topping sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in a large bowl until evenly blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract and whisk until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mix and fold gently until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Brush the top lightly with melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar topping evenly.

Notes

For variations, consider adding diced apples, chocolate chips, or drizzling with cream cheese glaze. Store at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Freezing is also an option.
