Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Provides structure for the bread.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Leavening agent.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Star spice for flavor.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Used in cinnamon swirl.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 large egg, room temperature Adds structure and moisture.
  • 1 cup milk Provides moisture.
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil Adds moisture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg slightly, then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the ground cinnamon and brown sugar together until evenly blended.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
  2. Pour the remaining batter on top and then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  3. Using a knife, gently swirl through the batter to create a marbled effect with the cinnamon sugar.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Store cinnamon sugar bread at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, keep in the refrigerator up to 7 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
