Ingredients
  

Filling and Crust
  • 2 packages 8 oz packages cream cheese, softened Use full-fat for best results.
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar For the filling.
  • 1 large egg Room temperature.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cans 8 oz Pillsbury crescent dinner rolls For the crust.
Cinnamon Sugar Topping
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar For topping.
  • 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together ½ cup sugar and 2 Tbsp cinnamon for the topping.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla, blending until creamy.
  4. Spray a 9x13 baking pan with non-stick spray and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on the bottom.
  5. Roll out one can of dough on waxed paper and press it into the bottom of the pan over the cinnamon sugar.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top of the dough.
  7. Roll out the second can of dough and place it over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar on top.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For a cleaner cut, chill the bars for at least 2 hours before slicing them. Consider lining your pan with parchment paper for easy removal. These bars can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
